I know everyone is busy with the holidays. Honestly, I’m grateful for anyone who took the time even to open this newsletter, as I’m sure your inbox is absolutely flooded right now.
It is always a struggle for me to decide how often to post or write. Marketing is my least favorite part of this job. But, as one of my mentors once taught me, folks will not know about your services unless you tell them. The thing is, there is always a little part of me that feels like I am being annoying when I send out a newsletter. This is the people pleaser in me. It sounds like this… I’m here to help (if you want, but please don’t feel like you have to; in fact, don’t worry about it because I don’t want to bother you; I’ll just disappear now).
I’m sure many can relate. We were the ones who were maybe bullied as kids, or had difficult home lives, and so tried very hard not to draw attention to ourselves. The problem is that this survival strategy that served us when we were young now works against us. I absolutely cannot run a successful business without being seen. And the truth is, I have absolutely amazing services to offer. I love what I do, and I worked hard to develop the skills I have. But this hurdle is my healing work.
There is a common phrase among those of us in the healing arts… the wounded healer. We are all wounded. But our wounds are also where we find our gifts. When we do the healing work to overcome our own issues, we can then bring the path to healing that wound to others. I’m still working on this one. I’m bringing in the flower essence Mimulus for this fear of something known (being seen). I’m mothering that little girl who made herself small and letting her know that she can shine, it’s OK now.
