New newsletter, same herbalist…

Dear medicine worker,

If you have been wondering where I’ve been lately, there is a very good chance that my newsletters have been ending up in your spam folder. I have been known to talk to myself a great deal, but these newsletters are meant to connect with you, and it has been frustrating to know that more likely than not, you haven’t been seeing them.

In an attempt to reach your inbox, I’ve switched platforms. Fingers crossed that all goes well. Tech has never been my strength. I’m happier in the apothecary than on the computer. But I’m doing my best over here as a one-woman show.

Anyway, see below for current goings on and stay tuned for more to come.

In good medicine,

April

What’s in your cup?

With the weather turning cooler, I find myself reaching for a warm cuppa…

original art by Rain Coburn

The contents of my cup change with the seasons and my mood. Lately, I have been starting my mornings with mushroom coffee, and then switching to a cup of actual coffee after breakfast (because I do enjoy just one cup). In the afternoon, I usually have a cup of herbal tea that changes daily, but usually consists of nervines of some kind (skullcap, oatstraw, wood betony…), and something I find just enjoyable (tulsi, lemon balm, spearmint…). I stay away from sweeteners, except for the occasional spoonful of honey when craving a bit of sweetness in my cup. Although a bit of cinnamon glycerite in my coffee never did any harm.

I’ll be sharing some tea recipes over in the Patreon group this month. Join me over there for a conversation about teas for the cold season.

Last call for registration! Doors close on Wednesday and the fall course starts on Friday.
